Changing the Health of a Generation Begins at School
At Manning Family Children’s, we’re bringing health directly to kids at school with innovative school-based programs designed to advance the health and wellbeing of Louisiana’s students.
Working together with schools across Louisiana, our pediatric experts provide the tools, education, inspiration, and expertise to help all kids grow up healthy – and thrive.
ThriveKids, The Student Wellness Project, is a comprehensive community-based program that provides in-school care coordination, mental and behavioral health services, sports medicine, chronic condition management, and mental health education and resources for schools throughout the state.
Manning Family Children’s understands that each school is unique and works to best support school partners with a wide range of programs and services, customized based on each school’s specific needs.
Over the past five years, ThriveKids has:
- Enrolled 6,731 students
- Served 333 school campuses
- Staffed 50 target schools with full time clinicians
- Completed 53,740 school-based counseling sessions
- Facilitated 11,703 outpatient behavioral health visits
- Coordinated 5,491 connections to primary or specialty clinics
Additionally, we opened our first ThriveKids wellness center Uptown featuring a licensed therapists, psychiatry, and pediatrics, a community clinic in New Orleans East providing primary care, psychiatry and counseling, and we have embedded therapy and care coordination within the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center and the Morgan Rae Center for Hope.
