A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Katie has always enjoyed working with young children. After studying Elementary Education at Louisiana State University, she received her Master’s of Education from the University of New Orleans. Before joining the Parenting Center, Katie spent 17 years as a classroom teacher.
Before joining The Parenting Center, Julia worked as an educator. She received a degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and worked in the public school system for several years. Julia has also worked as a math tutor and taught bilingual courses abroad in Spain. She is passionate about giving children the best opportunity for success through education, teamwork, and advocacy. Throughout her career, she has valued the importance of connecting families to community resources and is excited to continue this work here at The Parenting Center.
The Parenting Center Advisory Board is comprised of concerned parents, community leaders, pediatricians, a member of the Junior League of New Orleans and members of the Manning Family Children's Board of Trustees. They provide invaluable guidance and direction to The Parenting Center staff, help assess the parenting needs of the community and ensure that the Parenting Center continues to fulfill its goals.
