Neonatal care unlike any other
Manning Family Children’s is proud to announce plans to build a new 60-bed Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to support growth of our regionally-leading neonatology program. The new flagship unit will anchor Children's regional network and address a critical need for expanded capacity and advanced neonatal care as the only program in Louisiana and the Gulf South with every pediatric medical and surgical specialty under one roof.
The project will increase the hospital’s current NICU capacity from 35 to 60 beds, expanding the LCMC Health regional neonatal network to nearly 200 beds. Offering the highest level of neonatal intensive care available, our expert team stands ready to receive babies born as early as 22 weeks, many weighing barely a pound. Their survival depends on swift intervention, specialized equipment, and unrelenting, expert care provided by the state’s top pediatric subspecialists from both LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine.
